Speedplay SYZR Pedal System Stainless Steel: At Speedplay, we were born with the need for speed both on-road and off. After inventing the most technically-advanced road pedals, we set out to develop a state-of-the-art, off-road pedal system that is equally capable on the road. Speedplay's new Syzr is the culmination of a multi-year R&D effort to develop the ultimate, made-to-go-anywhere clipless pedal system.

We started by making Syzr Pedal Systems transfer power more efficiently. Rider power is delivered to Syzr pedals directly through the cleats, not through the spongy rubber lugs of the shoe sole. This improved design for transferring power ensures that no rider energy is lost during transmission. We also improved the precision of the pedal/cleat connection to eliminate the slop and lateral instability common to off-road pedals.

If you like being able to control the float angle of a pedal (i have a tendency to hit my heel on the chainstays), and you have shoes with soft lugs... then the Syzr pedal will solve those problems perfectly. I was looking for solutions to both and they Syzr is perfect. Very solid connection between pedal and shoe and full control over the float angle. My carbon soled mtn bike shoes never felt so solid. I am now using them for both road and mountain bikes.
