Video Action Sports - 2009 Tour de France DVD-13 Hour:
Lance is back. And he means business. This July the seven-time Tour de France winner will attempt the unthinkable, to gain an eighth title in the most grueling endurance event on the planet.
Just returning to the Tour has been fraught with challenges for Armstrong. There’s been the crash and broken collarbone, the trouble with uncertain sponsorship, and the backroom disputes with organizers.
This summer, Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France will be the pinnacle of his comeback. It will be the moment when we finally discover what the Texan can still do in the race which turned him into a legend. The competition will be fierce, not least from his teammate Alberto Contador, the first winner of the Tours of Italy, France and Spain in over two decades.
The route could hardly be more difficult, and at the end of it all comes Lance Armstrong’s least favorite mountain, the Mont Ventoux, the one climb he has never been able to conquer.
