Description

Compass 700C x 35 Bon Jon Pass Extralight Casing: The Bon Jon Pass is our Goldilocks tire: at 700C x 35 mm, it fits bikes that have extra clearance around the Stampede Pass (32 mm), but not enough space for a Barlow Pass (38mm). Bon Jon Pass is accessed via a relatively smooth gravel road on the Olympic Peninsula. The moderate gradient allows you to let your bike fly, and these tires will be perfect for surfaces like that.

On pavement, the Bon Jon Pass will outcorner narrower tires thanks to its greater width and its lower pressure, both of which keep more rubber in contact with the road surface. The Bon Jon Pass will glide over chipseal where narrower or less supple tires will chatter. If your bike can fit this tire, you won’t be disappointed.

The Bon Jon Pass is tubeless-compatible in both standard and extralight casing.

4 of 5 My favorite fast-riding, fat, tubeless-ready tire June 24, 2018
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from NY
These tires are in a class by themselves.  Nothing this large is nearly as fast and light.  I recommend riding them tubeless, because they are more puncture prone than heavier tires.  A tubeless tire repair kit (only 5g of weight -- just a tiny fork with rubber strips) is a good idea, too.

Tour Magazine (major German bike pub) rated them among the 5 fastest tires -- including among road racing tires.

Longevity is not as bad as I expected:  About 3,000 miles on my first set before the tread was worn rather thin and cuts happened more frequently - I rotated them once at 1,500 miles.

Four stars (instead of 5) because they are a not super sturdy and they will sweat sealant due to their thin sidewalls.
